These are some of the co-occurring disorders to autism

Children on the spectrum may sometimes have a co-occurring disorder to their autism that may be missed or covered by their autism.  It is important to identify and address co-occurring disorders.

Some of the co-occurring disorders that I have already experienced and come across are;

Specific speech disorders; apraxia, receptive and expressive language disorders

Epilepsy; tonic - clonic seizures (grand mal), petite mal

Learning disabilities; dyslexia, dysgraphia, hyperlexia

Sensory disorders; tactile, olfactory, auditory, taste, visual

Other; Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ ADD), Angelman Syndrome, vision difficulties, anxiety disorders, depression
