AUTISM SUPPORT

Welcome!

I’m Elisa Ferriggi, an RDI consultant, providing autism support for families and professionals since 2003.

My programmes, workshops and resources focus on empowering parents and teachers – helping them to guide children in developing skills for their long-term future.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

“The quality of our family life has improved significantly.  Kyle has significantly fewer meltdowns, is happier, less angry, more flexible, more capable of dealing with changes in his routine, and more independent.”

Nikki & Kevin

A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO AUTISM

Every child is unique and autism presents in many different ways, however, these are common core values that can be used in providing the most nurturing environment:

PARENTS ARE THE BEST RESOURCE A CHILD CAN HAVE

By equipping parents with the knowledge and tools to support their neuro-diverse child, stronger relationships and connections can be formed and maintained.

VIEWING THE CHILD HOLISTICALLY

It is important to take into account the child's full history, relationships, co-occurring conditions, diagnosis, health and mindset to provide the most suitable level of support for a child.

WHOLE FAMILY APPROACH

A whole family approach is important, so that every member feels valued and has their needs met.

DEVELOPMENTAL APPROACH

Understanding neurotypical development is crucial in knowing how to support autistic people. I believe a developmental approach is the key to improving quality of life.

PEOPLE DO THE BEST THEY CAN WITH THE RESOURCES THAT HAVE AT ANY GIVEN TIME

Our best is always good enough – that’s true for parents as well as children – we do our best with the knowledge, skills and experience that we have doing their best at any given time, if they could do it more easily they would.

QUALITY OF LIFE OUTCOME RATHER THAN QUICK FIXES

By focusing on long term goals and using a developmental approach to address many of the missing milestones and core features of autism through the guiding relationship, this will improve the quality of life outcome for the family and individual.
